Lenape Valley Students Named 2006 Merit Scholars

Lenape Valley Regional High School Principal Doug deMarrais announced that seniors William Blakeley, Marybeth Matlack, Hannah Mueller, and Elise Rowe have been named Commended Students in the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Recommendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors.

About 34, 000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2006 competition for Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than one million students who entered the 2006 competition by taking the 2004 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
