Testing

The State of NJ requires students in Grade 11 to take the NJGPA- English and Math test as a condition of earning a diploma.  Students who do not successfully pass the NJGPA will be assigned a class in senior year to remediate the test, potentially retake the NJGPA in the fall of Grade 12, and complete a lengthy portfolio process.  We cannot emphasize enough the importance of students being present and doing their absolute best on this test.

Testing will occur for all juniors on:

Students, please come prepared for testing with:

  • A charged chromebook

  • Your charging cord

  • A novel to read for pleasure

  • Snacks

You will test in your assigned homerooms.  Please check your Genesis student portal for that information!

Please check your email for more information.  Good luck next week during testing.

Students who are not in Grade 11 may ride the morning bus and remain in the gymnasium until the conclusion of testing or find their own transportation to arrive prior the start of classes, which will be 10:15 on Tuesday and Wednesday and 9:15 on Thursday!!!.

ASVAB

Juniors,

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is being offered at Lenape Valley on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 7:20am.

Please complete the google form sent to your email by THURSDAY, MARCH 26, 2026 if you would like the opportunity to take the test.  This information is also on the Guidance Google Classroom.

Despite the name of this test and its sponsorship by the Armed Services, there is NO military obligation involved.

Why should you take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery?

You may already have an idea of your career goals. On the other hand, you may be like millions of other high school students who are seeking some assistance in gathering and sorting the information you need to make an informed decision. If you already have career goals in mind, you probably need information about the different avenues available to you in pursuing those goals. If you have not determined your career goals yet, you need a starting point for doing your career planning. Wherever you are in the career exploration process, the ASVAB can help you prepare for your next step.

Your decision to enter college, technical or vocational school, military service, or the world of work is an important one. You should know as much as possible about your strengths and weaknesses in order to make a choice which is appropriate for you. ASVAB can help you by providing some of this information. Your ASVAB scores are related to both military and civilian career areas. These scores can also be used to qualify interested students for enlistment and various military training programs.

Any questions, please see Mrs. Finizio in Guidance.
