Our Lenape Valley High School STEM program is designed to encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, professionalism, and the ability to work independently or as part of a design team. The STEM department courses are designed in a way to offer the flexibility students need to explore their interests while offering essential instruction and guidance to set them on a path toward their desired career path. From our introductory STEM Academy class through our Honors Inventor Studio Workshop class, the goal is student-centered hands-on learning. The real-world challenges coupled with our industry-standard software and machinery give students the experience and training they need to compete in this cutting-edge job market.

Every student is unique with a unique set of interests and goals. We need to guide and mentor them to think through problems and make well informed decisions. I feel students have the best chance for success with a constructivist form of teaching. My teaching is based on the belief that learning occurs as learners are actively involved in a process of meaning and knowledge construction rather than passively receiving information. This basically means a very hands on experience. My students are the makers of meaning and knowledge. My classes foster critical thinking and creates motivated and independent learners.

I graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in general history. I earned my Master of Architecture degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). In addition to my degrees, I earned a New Jersey coaching certification, a supervisor certification, and a principal certification.

Prior to my career in education, I worked as an architectural designer for a New Jersey based firm. We designed multifamily structures, single family residences, and commercial properties through out the tri-state area. During the time I was in graduate school, I worked general construction building high end single family homes.
