Over spring break, Ms. Kauderer, Chinese teacher at Lenape Valley, and Mrs. Krajewski, a fellow educator from Mount Olive, co-led an unforgettable trip to China with a group of 11 travelersβincluding four students and several parents.
The group explored three iconic cities: Beijing, Xiβan, and Shanghai. Along the way, they walked the Great Wall, visited the Forbidden City, had a tour of the Terracotta Army, and experienced modern day Shanghai. Two special highlights were the Panda House at the Beijing Zoo, and an acrobatic show in Shanghai.
Beyond the sightseeing, what made the trip truly special was how it brought the language to lifeβspotting familiar characters, recognizing phrases and sentences, and engaging in conversations with locals.
This journey was the perfect mix of learning, culture, and funβand it built memories that will last a lifetime. Everyone returned to the US with a deeper appreciation for both the beauty and diversity of Chinese culture and the countryβs modern achievements.
