Three-photo collage showing Environmental and Earth Science students participating in a hands-on water quality study with the Lake Hopatcong Foundation. Students work with instructors at an outdoor testing station, collect and examine samples in a river, and use water-testing equipment aboard a boat on Lake Hopatcong.

Patrick and his volunteer staff did an amazing job providing our Environmental and Earth Science students with a hands-on lesson in water quality testing. Students used probes to measure temperature and pH, a Secchi disk to examine turbidity and water clarity, and explored aquatic life by examining microinvertebrates in the lake and macroinvertebrates in the river.

Thank you to the Lake Hopatcong Foundation for providing our students with such a meaningful, real-world environmental science experience!
