Congratulations to Joey Agens and Ryan Slahor who competed at an auto competition this past weekend at UTI in Bloomfield, NJ. Joey finished in 1st place, won a $7,000 grant to attend UTI, and went home with approximately $3,000 in tools. Ryan won $1,000 in grants and finished 6th place. To support our local heroes, the LVR Interact Club and Skylands Rotary are selling flags to honor all those who have served (Military, Police, EMT, etc). Each flag will be placed along the parade route (Lake Musconetcong and American Legion). The name of the honored person and a brief message will be attached to each flag.  Flags will be placed the weekend of May 18th. Each flag is $10 and all proceeds will benefit the Veterans Community.

You can also click the link on our website to order. The 1st deadline for Banners is May 10th. Banners will be sent directly to LVR and hung in the commons until graduation day where they will line the fence post. You may pick up the banners on your way out of graduation. This past weekend in Princeton, New Jersey, Timmy Walsh, a NJSIAA student ambassador, had the privilege of introducing Greg Olsen and Mark DeRosa at their induction into the Hall of Fame. The NJSIAA Student Ambassador Program encourages student-athlete health and safety, sportsmanship, academic and athletic leadership, and the development of strong relationships with officials, coaches, and other student-athletes. Timmy's representation of Lenape Valley at such a prestigious occasion makes us very proud.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Rossi Participates in National Conference on Education, Applauds Alumni Presenter's Insightful Advocacy on Federal Policy! Superintendent Dr. Mike Rossi recently attended and presented at the National Conference on Education. Each year, the American Association of School Administrators [AASA] facilitates the conference. Dr. Rossi attended a session on federal policy, led by AASA's Advocacy & Policy Staff. One presenter, Kat Sturdevant, is an LVRHS Alumni, Class of 2013. AASA advocates for equitable access to the highest quality public education for all students. AASA advocacy aims to influence federal education policy and legislation through the collective efforts of AASA members across the country. AASA’s advocacy is driven by a commitment to ensure that the voice of the nation’s public school superintendents informs federal policy decisions. Dr. Rossi states: "Kat and her colleagues were informative and insightful, providing poignant awareness to key educational issues".
